How to create mesh vectors using free gradient mesh plug-in in Adobe Illustrator


One of the most astonishing and perplexing tools in Adobe Illustrator is undoubtedly the Gradient Mesh tool. 

In this blog I would like to discuss about the plugin “Mesh Tormentor” that will help and time consume while working with Mesh.

How to install Mesh Tormentor for Adobe Illustrator:

Download the Mesh Tormentor for Adobe Illustrator by clicking on the below link:


You can download your adobe version file for windows/macOS

After download open Adobe Extension Manager and click Install button. 

Select MeshTormentor.zip file in the dialog window, and click Open.

Installation Completed!




Open Illustrator and you can able to see the Mesh Tormentor Plugin under window menu. Click to open Mesh Tormentor

Work with Mesh Tormentor:

You can able to see lot of option in Mesh Tormentor plugin. In this tutorial we are going to focus about the
Color tracing option mentioned as capture colors from the raster object to all selected meshes.

This tool helps us to trace the colors from the source object and create the vector mesh.

Step 1:

Open the image which you want to trace





Step 2:

Draw the outline shape from the source object



Step 3:

Click Object -> Create Gradient Mesh




Here I used Rows:Coloumns 40:40 (as per your image requirement) option and click Ok.

Step 4:

Click Window menu and select Mesh Tormentor




Select Source image and our vector image. Now click on the capture colors from the raster object to all selected meshes option to trace the color from source image to vector mesh.





Now we create our lemon vector object by a single click! By using this tool we can able to create all images into a realistic vector object by a single click!
